Dukan Diet advice please

Can anyone help me. I have Type 1 diabetes and am on an insulin pump. I am not overweight but could do to lose about a stone and have recently been trying the Dukan diet, having not realised all these years that I could remove carbohydrate from my diet.
As I also have coeliacs disease, the diet has been difficult to say the least.
Anyway I am coming to the end of the Attack phase and wanted to know if anyone had any advice on the Cruise phase in terms of alternating. I read in the book that you could do 2/0 as in 2 days protein only and the rest a normal diet.
Has anyone tried this and does it work?
Grateful for advice from anyone who has tried it :?

Am a Type 2, with Coeliac Disease, plus other thyroid problems.

I have also got rid of just about a stone, very slowly..doing what I can only describe as a modified Dukan. I was fine on the protein stage...but missed my fruit & veg.

Am trying to do the 2 on 2 off manner...but cant report success (yet)...but please dont let that stop you having a go. Go for it!!

What I have found...is that I am just so cold. In the office here as I write (slacking at work?? me??), others have strappy tee shirts and windows open...and I am shivering, with a thick fleece on.
All I want to do is sleep...

Am on 2 x 500 Metformin SR and 1 x 1000 Januvia(only since Monday).

With best wishes and hope to see a lot less of you soon....

hi apricot, thanks for the encouragement. I lost 4lbs on the 5 day attack phase and this is my first week of 2/0 cruise. I think the weight will come off really slowly and I think the best advice is just try to reign in the carbs and not follow any strict regime. With the coeliacs as well, it is difficult enough. I have found that I didn't have hypos on the protein only days, but do have them when eating normally.
I do tend to be cold and haven't noticed that change as a result of this.

anyway good luck and keep me posted on success

Hi Apricot
Ive been on Dukan since the end of Jan '12 and have lost 3 stone so far. Ive been taken off my Metformin 2 weeks ago as I was having hypo's nearly every day. I had never had a hypo before.
I found the diet easy -but I do 1day proteins and then 1 day protein and veg.
Since the hypo's Ive been modifying it slightly and add a little allowed veg sometimes on my protein days.

It is important to eat a lot adn also to drink enough.
Good Luck
