Dukan diet

I need to lose a lot of weight, and this diet seems good from reading the bumph. It does say though it isn't suitable for type 1 diabetics, but I read type 1's saying they've done it. Has anyone on here done it?

Have read through this.

It can be hard on the kidneys as it is high in protein. Have read through your posts and am not sure it is for you. I would hate to think that you might end up with more kidney problems.
How about reading Daisy's advice for the newly diagnosed as that will help with weight loss as you will be cutting back on carbohydrates to a degree that suits you.

I've tried this diet - I dodn't get on well with it at all. Very constipated, and very, VERY hungry all the time. It was one of the hardest diets I've tried.

Only 1 way to find out if it'll work for you, though.

I shouldn't worrt too much about the kidney thing - this is something that usually gets brought up when discussing low carb diets. I'm yet to be convinced that high protein diets can damage your kidneys. But, hey, DYOR...

My reason for the caution regarding kidney problems was the fact that the OP has already had a kidney transplant.

Regardless of what you are convinced by or not Patch high protein diets are not advised for anyone with kidney damage as damaged kidneys are not able to deal with high levels of protein, I thought you would have known that as you have tried so many different diets and have apparently researched them all in depth :D

Agreed.

I didn't realise the OP had an existing kidney condition.
