I received my letter to say the necessary checks have been successfully completed and my new license will be issued shortly. But that was back in November and I've still not received it. I've sent them an email 2 weeks ago to chase it, but no reply.
Not sure what else I can do.
Can't imagine it's even possible to speak to anyone via telephone these days.
Have other people had similar problems?

I think mine came on the same day as the letter, if not only a couple of days later.
I'd post a letter to them recorded delivery, and write on the front of the envelope something like 'Licence not received department'
Just another thought, before you do that, I think you can check online if you hold a valid licence, it might be worth doing that first.

When I got diagnosed I called them on a Saturday and got through after about 60 trys. During the week was useless

Hello. Yes this happened to me same time last year. Apparently there is a massive hold up in issuing paper requests. I was advising future to complete the information online as it’s much quicker. It’s very annoying!!

I had no end of trouble getting through on the phone but the webchat (https://contact.dvla.gov.uk/driving-licence) was more useful. It's not always available if advisors are busy but they can do just about anything that the people on the phones can do. I managed to find out from them they had issued my license and it turned up a couple of days later.

This year. Licence renewal was a bit weird. Usually, the letter & the licence drops through the door the same day?
But I waited ages long after my licence had expired. (Weeks.) Then, just when I was on the verge of chasing them up, the letter came…
Thought I’d keep that to cover my back till the licence arrives..?
It showed up a day or so later..

Hi Zinadane,
Nothing happens quick with DVLA, took me 9 months to get my HGV medical sorted as they have no email address, no online chat service and due to ongoing industrial action they have no call handlers. I would write to them and 4-6weeks would pass before I would get a reply. So not unusual what you are saying.
