Hi

I have just submitted my license for renewal after doing a DVLA fields test for retinopathy. The optician said I had passed the test and done really well. Just missed a couple of points on the very edge of the periphery which apparantly they won't be bothered about. What I want to know is, will they renew for one, two or three years? I had to say on the form that went to the DVLA how long ago I'd last had laser, it was in october last year.

Does anyone know if they will only issue me a one year license because of this, or does it go purely on how well you've done on the field test? I'd like to get them off my back for three years before I have to go through all this again!

I don't have any hypo related problems that I've needed to disclose so it is just the retinopathy that's been the problem

Thanks

Hi, don't know myself sorry as I'm still on my first 3 year licence. As you have had no assisted hypos and past the field test hopefully you will get a three year one. Fingers crossed.

My story has been posted on other threads, but in a nutshell, I failed the Esterman test and had my licence revoked. Eventually they sent me for a different type of fields test, the Goldman test, and I passed that and was issued with a 3 year licence.

I'm guessing that as you had no major faults on your test, you too will get a 3 year licence.
