i have inherited diabetes triggered by anxiety/stress and depression, i applied for universal credit last year and made it clear to them that i could not leave the house and would have to do phone appointments, whilst covid was going on they were happy with that, now for the past 3 months, they have made my life hell, bullying me to the point of contemplating suicide because their badgering is relentless, when i had my assessment over the phone i was having a breakdown and the assessor put me down as a little bit tearful but capable to work!?!?! they now keep trying to get me to go in for group back to work meetings, which they know i cannot do, because i cannot leave the house, before this, i was managing my diabetes fine, now, because of the constant stress from them, i keep getting hypoglycaemia, which i tell them over and over again, but the agent really doesn't care, constant text messages and emails demanding i come in for interviews my health is suffering and all my hard work to combat diabetes has now gone downhill, thanks to them, my advice to anyone applying, please be careful especially with the stress, they will treat you like something they have stepped in, they will treat you like it is their money you are taking off them personally and they will get pleasure from making you sad, stressed and unhappy and will not care what effect they have on your health either mentally or physically

Phone your doctors, tell them you need help with UC.
If you need more help, citizens advice.
My wife went to court because of her disability because she was awarded no points!
She won her case and the government are not allowed to ask for an assessment at all for life.

It does take time, but you can do it.

Talk to your GP about your anxiety and your reluctance to go out. Counselling is available and through my similar experience in the last few years, I had issues leaving the house, but I have had counselling and got through this, and the issues have declined. I'm still not there yet, but on my way.
Are you T1? Or are you T2 medicated?
Contact your doctors about remote appointments.

If I remember correctly, your work coach should be helping you through this. I know I had to wait for any money after losing my job. It's wrong but this is what happens.

So are you claiming you are unable to work/do in person appointments because of the diabetes or the anxiety/agoraphobia/mental health situation? Which type of diabetes is it and how is it managed? Hypos are usually caused by the medication not the diabetes itself. Perhaps if you can evidence your situation and needs more clearly they will back off. Or you can get it referred to someone else for reassessment.

They obviously aren’t doing their job in helping you navigate the system or their requirements. In your shoes I’d ask exactly what they need from you to prove you need to continue with the phone assessments. Then seek the evidence from your dr and get help from CAB battling the way forward so you aren’t so alone in this.

I echo the above and I would also get a diagnosis if possible regarding your mental health as this may well help with regards to them badgering you consistently and could also help with any further claims. Speaking from experience here, as I have mental health issues but a swift letter to the dwp from a specialist helped me at a time when I also was being harassed to the point of more insanity!

thank you for your advice and support people, the doctor knows full well my social anxiety problems so too the dwp, unfortunately he is of the stiff upper lip view, just shrug it off and get on with ii type, it was caused by 8 years of abuse, death threats, harassment etc... from a neighbour, because i reported her to social services for being an unfit parent and they took 4 of her many kids off of her and put them in care, i am type 2 diabetic caused by anxiety stress etc... as i am active and have always had an extremely healthy diet, i don't take medication, tried it made me severely ill, my diabetes is kept very well under control until i get bullied by the dwp, i will advise be very careful if you have to go for assessments, as they have a tendency to twist things you say, if you say you like flowers, they will claim you are fit to work and can train to be a gardener because you mentioned your like of them, they really don't care how they treat people, just want to tick boxes and fill quotas

You can ask for another work coach or a supervisor.
Advise your GP you are extremely anxious when dealing with the work coach, then tell your work coach to speak to your GP. Have you got a sick note to cover you?
I'm not sure but on the Gov. Uk site, they must have a page for complaints.
On your Home page of your UC account, put your concerns down because other coaches will also see it.

Take care.

thank you, for your advice, i did actually ask for another work coach but they refused my request and said i had to keep the one i have and just ignore me no matter what i say, i do get fit notes, the recent one is for 6 months, but they have said that whatever my gp says is invalid, because i had an assessment, they came back as saying that i was ok just a bit tearful, although at the time i had just lost my mum and had a breakdown because of 7 months of hell from her other daughter and grand daughter because they wanted out fathers money and wasn't right mentally when i had the assessment, but the work coach goes by what the results are from the assessment, the person i spoke to didn't have a clue, i have also complained but this too has gone on deaf ears, but thank you once again for your kind advice, it is appreciated

I'm so pleased to hear your wife won her case. It's disgraceful how the jobless are treated like vermin.
