About three months ago I had my annual eye check up and they said that my eyes are now being affected by my diabetes (T2). A few days later, I was having an examination of my eyes about cataracts. The good news is they said I could have my left lens replaced, HOWEVER not whilst my BS was so high.
There was something motivational about having issues with my sight. I have also started to do very moderate exercising. I have been using low carb diet and trying to reduce my intake of foods. Here are my numbers:
Start point 10.1 / 87
My meter tells me the following testing first thing in am and prior to evening meal:
90 Day Avg 9.1 / 76
60 Day Avg 9.2 / 77
28 Day Avg 7.1 / 54
21 Day Avg 6.8 / 51
14 Day Avg 6.8 / 51
7 Day Avg 6.5 /48
There has been another surprising outcome from this change. My wife has been so supportive and whilst she hasn't 'tried' to loose weight, she has come down a dress size! How about that?!
I am well on course for having my lens replaced now. I can't wait for my next Hba1c test. My eye issues have really focused me on getting on top of my BS.
