Early pregnancy and high b/s. Normal???

Thanks Jess!
I'm getting another scan this Friday, I will be 7wks6days!! Think the ivf clinic could sense my worry!!
How far along will you be at your scan??

Re nausea, I was getting it really bad but it seems to have calmed down over the last couple days!
Kind of hoping it comes back soon though, Hahaha.

I think I'll probably be about 6 weeks but no lmp to work off so a bit if guess work ! Yes the nausea whilst awful is in a way at least reassuring that my hcg levels are rising!
Did you find anything particularly helpful when you had it?

I didn't really bother trying anything hun. I did find that healthy food was doing nothing for me and that carbs always made me feel better. Not ideal but I just went with it and made sure I got enough insulin etc.

My blood sugars have come down brilliantly in the last week or so. My average on my machine is 6.7mmol which is my norm. Would like to get it lower but clinic seem happy enough with where it's at!

You must be super excited for your scan? If you are 6wks, don't be disappointed if you don't see a heartbeat yet. It's still early at that stage, however you never know!!!

Keep me posted on how you get on hun
xx

I agree with what you said about carbs....unfortunately I'm on a no carb diet as it keeps my BMs really stable when all I feel like having is carbs! haha! My HbA1c was 6.0 last week which is the best it's been so whilst I hate the no carb thing it's obviously working! The most difficult thing is trying to hide it at work as haven't told anyone! Couldn't even manage my decaf coffee yesterday and for me that's a disaster!!
Am not expecting to see the heartbeat on Thursday and that way if it is visible it'll be a bonus!
Will let you know how I get on.
Have a good week,
Jess

Hey Em,
All good...6+3 and nice clear heart beat. Very pleased that there is a good reason why I'm feeling so awful! Also really pleased there is only one in there!
How're you doing?

Fantastic news hun!! You must be so relieved to hear the heartbeat?! I know we were!! Baby seems to be measuring bang on date??
Was thinking of you earlier but couldn't log on till now as I've been in the cinema watching Jersey Boys. Good film!!

We have our second scan tomorrow. I will be 7wks6days! So nervous, even though I have been so sick today!! It's crazy that I still can't relax properly, even after seeing a heartbeat and getting all these symptoms.
I suppose that's what 5 years of IVF does to you.... ;-)

Will let you know how we get on!!!!

Em xx

They couldn't find a heartbeat today. Looks like I've had a mmc.
Got to go to epu on Mon and they will confirm.
I feel so sad

Oh Em, I'm so sorry! I was so hopeful for you. I really feel for you. Big hugs Hun, I know there's nothing I can say at this time to make it any better. My thoughts are with you and your partner. Take care of yourself.
Love Jess x

I'm having the same problems. From 4-5 weeks I noticed my BMs shooting up and felt nauseous too. I'm now 6 weeks and still having the same issues. My spike tends to be before breakfast. I've had to increase my insulin by 40% to get near normal control. I'm having a CGM fitted tomorrow for a week to see what is happening and what else I can do to normalise my sugars. I have been told each week will be different and to take each day as it comes. You will get to a poi t where you won't need as much insulin, then it will escalate again. Pregnancy and hormone levels are different for everyone. If you have any worries then I would discuss it with your antenatal/diabetic team xxx
