@Listlad I am right there in the loo with you. I used to eat enormous amounts of veg, beans, fruits, quinoa, and very little cheese because dairy stops me cold. Cooked carrots were my, er, go-to. I had a serious problem the past few months and have found that more chia, more flax, and/or more spinach are very helpful. As I’m not keto and never carnivore, it’s cheese and nuts all the way for day to day protein. Daily egg, and occasional turkey or chicken, and more often fish. So. I am no longer an every day-er, and it’s uncomfortable, more so with each passing (...) day. So far the fiber stuff keeps me almost happy on D-day these days...5-6 psyllium husk caps wouldn’t touch me. Rather eat the stuff with cream and cinnamon!
ETA another reason I wish to stay regular: cancers run in my family. I am not wishing to invite colon cancer to my body, and have so far had two stellar colonoscopies at 50 and 60. Next (and last!) in 3 years. Mr ZF does not eat near my amount of plant foods, and has had polyps already on his first one. Case made on purely personal grounds. I realize I sound fairly confrontive, but it’s all in a collegial manner! Y’all keep doing what works for you and I’ll see how I get on over here.
