Eat your cornflakes

Oh no. There is plenty coming out. Just agony getting it out. :D Like I say it is something I have never had in my past and only heard about from others. To reiterate, the flax seed helps. Maybe I need to double up on flax seed.
Sounds like you need more fiber. I take 5 or 6 of these capsules with a meal twice a day:

I calculated my fiber intake pre Keto (which I need for other medical reasons) so knew how much to have. Hope this helps... :)

Could be the extra flax seed causing the problem..?

Ha. I only got to see your post just now. There was a lot of “traffic” earlier.

In the past on an Eatwell type of diet and back to the year dot, I never suffered constipation. Ever.

Since going lower carbs higher fats the constipation kicks in.

However a handful of flax seed a day helps, as recommended by some members on here. I haven’t tried doubling that dose of flax seed yet.

@Listlad I am right there in the loo with you. I used to eat enormous amounts of veg, beans, fruits, quinoa, and very little cheese because dairy stops me cold. Cooked carrots were my, er, go-to. I had a serious problem the past few months and have found that more chia, more flax, and/or more spinach are very helpful. As I’m not keto and never carnivore, it’s cheese and nuts all the way for day to day protein. Daily egg, and occasional turkey or chicken, and more often fish. So. I am no longer an every day-er, and it’s uncomfortable, more so with each passing (...) day. So far the fiber stuff keeps me almost happy on D-day these days...5-6 psyllium husk caps wouldn’t touch me. Rather eat the stuff with cream and cinnamon!
ETA another reason I wish to stay regular: cancers run in my family. I am not wishing to invite colon cancer to my body, and have so far had two stellar colonoscopies at 50 and 60. Next (and last!) in 3 years. Mr ZF does not eat near my amount of plant foods, and has had polyps already on his first one. Case made on purely personal grounds. I realize I sound fairly confrontive, but it’s all in a collegial manner! Y’all keep doing what works for you and I’ll see how I get on over here. ;)

Okay.

I just had some success and the solution was a good helping of rhubarb. I had been looking at prunes but the carb levels are higher. I enjoy both so no problem there. So I need to balance out with something like rhubarb I’m my diet to avoid difficulties that I had been having.

Did you ever eat fried green tomatoes, btw?

I had it a little at first but bio yogert and a fancy for peanuts, of everything I have given up for diabetes something I can't/don't want to give up (sue me) sorted things.

Still only 2 3 times a week though.
