Eating by Blood Type

I've had none or done none of those.

I was going to ask how likely is it that you can predict your blood type if you know your parents types, but considering what has happened to members like ladybird64, I would assume not! My mom is O (though I forget if she's positive or not) and my dad is A... positive I think. I will have to ask them again to make sure lol.

How interesting!

So this means I could be O or A? I am very similar to my Dad's side of the family so maybe I'm A?
Safer not to assume but it's a nice thought to have some idea!

Edit: I will ask my siblings what they are... I do have 4 of them to ask so the results may be helpful!

I have been working on my family tree funnily enough, though I've only got so far! Most of my family are on the east side of the UK... who knows what I might uncover? My mother's family apparently come from Ireland but I've yet to reach hard evidence of this.

I remember the test in the biology class, but they must have had hard times at my school in the 70's as it was only one test between two and the girl next to me got the test. She was something boring like O or A, had they tested mine, I would have been something to talk about being AB.

My Mum was group A, but I don't know if my Dad was AB or B, but my sister has the same as me - AB. My hubby is A, one of my children is A, the other is B and the third hasn't been tested.

I've got Irish ancestry and it is one of the more difficult areas to research as many records got distroyed in a fire and there are not as many available online.

I am group A+ and my Father was too. I was tested when I donated blood.

Eating by blood type, is that like painting by numbers Viv? :wink:

Well, it does seem that 3 out of the total 5 kids are definitely O (my youngest sibling and I don't know our blood types). I have also established that both my parents are positives, A and O respectfully.

So whatever it is, I must be a positive person!

Lovinglife's sory reminded me of a similar thing which happened to me.

I used to donate blood quite regularly. I had a little book to which a sticker was added each time I donated. I don't think I ever really looked at them. I disliked the whole business - mainly because I used to faint at the end of each donation. This made me the subject of various patronising comments from the staff of he transfusion service - most of whom had never given blood themselves by their own admission, All based on the idea that I must be squeamish or wimpish.
I used to point out that I only felt faint when the dionation was complete. Had I been squeamish I would surely have fainted earlier.
One of the men I worked wih used to be eactly the same. He was also a ery small slim person. We decided to investigate and discovered that we were both underweight for blood donation.
They used o weigh us fully dressed wih boots , coats etc . No wonder we fainted when more than one sevenhh of the blood in our bodies was suddenly removed.
But I digress {as usual{
I never looked at these slips which bore the blood type at the top. For some reason each was different. One would have O group another A and anoher OA .

A friend of ours had been researching the subject for some reason. I was not present but he was discussing it with my husband and daughter and wanted to know all our blood groups to illustrate a point.
The others didn't know my group but knew I had a blood donor card.
Well you can guess the rest. Our friend thought he had discovered a family scandal and couldn't wait to leave overcome wih embarrassment.!
As for Viv's original post -well who knows? In years to come this idea may well be found to have some merit. Just because we don't know or understand the whole picure is no reason to dismiss these hings out of hand.
Really we know so litle.

Apparently, I am AB positive because my mum is the rare one, AB Negative. My dad is 0, and so is my brother.

I'm not sure that i believe in eating according to your blood type. Everybody had the same metabolism and it doesn't matter what is your blood type.
This is just my opinion, maybe it works for some people.
