I really would like to do this but I guess it would be a little complicated. I'm on fiasp and I can take my insulin when starting a meal without the need to pre-bolus, so that's alright. I'm sure I can dial up and inject in the dark. Would be a bit awkward and I'll probably stab myself in my finger trying to get the cap back on but that's alright too.
I could of course ask them how many carbs there are in the food, but even if they know it wouldn't really help. I'm not much of a carb-counter, I'm rather an insulin-guesser and use previous experiences to guess after I've seen my food. Which I won't. Another complication is that I use my phone to scan my libre very often when eating new foods or eating out. Can't do that in the dark. Maybe I can do it under my jacket or something like that. And then guess the amount of insulin by taste.
Writing this I'm starting to look forward to it even more, I think it's doable :) And I'll just keep extra sweets in my pocket and accept some funny blood sugars the rest of the evening!

Of course the question why I want to do this remains. Probably because I'm a stubborn idiot who has read somewhere that you can do anything with diabetes :P

Oh I’ve heard about these places, it’s supposed to make your sense of taste more acute isn’t it? Let us know how you get on.

In the meantime, has anyone an idea what to pull over my head and arm which will let absolutely no light through when I scan my sensor? I reckon I'll be scanning every twenty minutes or so, as it will be the only way to monitor if I guessed the carb-content about right by just taste. So preferably something I can easily slip under and back out again.

Are there any table cloths in this black hole?

How would I know in the dark :P I'll happily take my own though (exept I don't think I own one, but that would be easily remedied in the thrift shop), but I don't think they're light-proof.

a blackout curtain - might be a bit bulky though. You can get blackout blinds that are "portable"
