Echo pen error messages!!

Twice now, I've injected myself with basal but the Echo pen doesn't show the injection, only two horizontal dashes. In people's experience, does this mean the needle wasn't screwed in properly so the insulin wasn't injected? Or does it mean the pen is dying and I should get a new one?

I did some air shots with another needle straight after, and it showed those fine.

I don't feel able to risk injecting twice, so have to risk not having injected this morning. :-(

Battery has gone @LucySW, just replace the pen.

yes it will likely be the battery. I had one of those and used it for a few years , but got a new one as thought the accuracy of dose was going off. This was before the battery went.
