Any unusual physical happening can have an impact on your blood glucose. If losing a fair bit of blood can that make sugar levels go low?
Been struggling today keeping sugars going low 85g carbs including lunch with just 2 units novarapid
not been that active last 24 hours. Day prior 40 lengths swim alongside mowed lawn. That's not unusual as been swimming every few days for a wee bit. I've been constipated for a few days so cut cocodomal and was taking senna to help with that. When did goto loo fair bit of blood couple of days ago, and lot more before lunchtime can't think of any other change from the norm.Any unusual physical happening can have an impact on your blood glucose.
What happened?

Have been trying to chase up endoscopy appt. Really wish that was dealt with when was admitted into hospital end of Jan when was diagnosed as diabetic hba1c 162 loss of blood was the main reason I went through a&e.
Hei Grant, hope things are better for you this morning. Can see you don’t like medics, especially ones brandishing needles at you.. but I think losing blood needs to be investigated ASAP. Have you got a friend or family member can go with you to an A&E or whatever the local emergency care department is.
Maybe better to be there on a Saturday morning , rather than Saturday evening…. Coupled with the low blood sugars… certainly needs investigating.
Was your blood loss not properly investigated in January?
Once they know you are T1D you should hopefully be bumped up the queue a bit.. take snacks! Good luck!
It's marked In hospital notes for likely future colonoscopy half expecting that to happen thanks.Am loath to say it may be your sensor playing up giving the low readings, as to check means finger sticking.
Hope you soon get sorted.
cheers very much.I cannot take NSAIDs @grantg.They cause stomach and digestive tract bleeding. Depending where the bleeding is my poop can be black or bloody if much lower down my digestive tract. I have to wear a red hospital band on my wrist (Canada) if in hospital. You can get specially coated pain killers that helps to prevent the bleeding from the NSAIDs or you can be put on PPI's. That has been my experience. I have had both. I was tested for Crohns disease and ulcerative colitis, both negative. As it turned out I have peptic ulcer disease plus coeliac disease as well. I Hope you get answers soon.
