Grown up son Recently diagnosed T1. Getting hang of carb counting and working out insulin doses well (clinic really pleased ) but still not much energy or decent sleeps. suffering eggy burbs, stomach ache and sickly feeling as well this last week. Anyone else go through this or similar in early days ? It’s bringing him down

Sorry I can't help, when I was diagnosed I felt so much better ( I was in hospital) albeit tired and getting my head around everything.
Type 1 and Coeliac disease can be related, so maybe you could get him checked out ? Whatever it is, I do hope he starts to feel better soon.
Take care

I used to get this if I had a sudden rise in blood sugar. I could be going along for days with good results and then an almost hyper-adrenalised feeling would take over, usually accompanied by eggy burps and even diarrhoea. As soon as I got a meter in the late 70's I could see a correlation. The problem is that things other than food can cause this, e.g. fending off a cold without having symptoms; a nasty letter from the bank, or anything else causing real stress. See what happens with his readings over the next few days. Gradual rises in blood sugar didn't tend to affect me in this way. Good luck!

Is he taking metformin by any chance?
Sometimes can be given to T1's and often causes gastric issues.

My ex boyfriend, some 25 years ago had had T1 for over 10 years when I met him and used to have eggy burps sometimes.
Not a clue what caused them though.
