Morning folks,

Is anyone taking Electrolytes? And of so has it made a difference or impacted your levels?

Thing is towards the end of a hard session I’m starting to feel tired recently, and am occasionally getting some cramps in my biceps and often calves later in the day (may be it’s the old age, but I doubt it), so was considering taking some Electrolytes.

I was thinking of something like these does anyone have experience of them or recommend a decent one.

Also when’s the best time to take them?

In the morning
Before training
During training in the water bottle

Many thanks in advance.

Personally, I find when I start getting cramp when exercising, it is due to lack of salt.
When I lived in Oz, a friend who was studying sport science used to go running every day and was getting cramp on the hotter days. He added a bit more salt to his meals and everything was fine from then on.
He never needed electrolytes and nor have I.

When out somewhere warm or hot, we'll be eating salty things as well. When that bag of crisps tastes _really_ good, you know it was time for some salt :)
Salt is traditionally the cure for cramp too. So yes, sounds like you need a bit more - but it doesn't need to be specialised "electrolytes" unless you want. Crisps, salted nuts, ham, all the things which are bad for you but tasty :)
