Ek is die ma van Elze en was die 20ste 'n jaar oud. Sy het Woensdag begin siek raak en haar Vrydag na 'n veearts geneem wat aanbeveel is vir haar. Hy het haar ondersoek en Baytril antibiotika en kortizoon voorgeskryf. Sy het egter nie beter geraak nie en haar Sondag aand na ons huisdokter geneem. Sy is getoets vir diabete en het dadelik High vertoon. Dok het met veearts inverbinding getree en sy is met .6 Levemir gespuit. Haar toets was gister oggend 19.4 en het haar gistraand .7 gespuit en vanoggend se lesing 16.6. Vanmiddag getoets en was weer high. Haar vanaand .9 gespuit.
Sy het verbeter en nie versleg nie, maar sy beweeg nog nie rond nie en is van balans af. Haar koppie maak soms swaaibewegings en na agter en ogies dop om. Baie slapering. Drink melk, water veral en wil net Nestum Maize babapap eet. Vrugte, ens weier sy. Bietjie suikervrye jelly geeet. Baie bekommerd oor haar. Wil graag weet of haar toestand nog normaal is? Sy herken my en gesels, maar glad nie haar ou self nie. SY het darem al vandag haar doek uitgetrek. Haar magie werk vandag mooi. By the looks of things we are talking about a baby not an adult and should be seen immediately by a doctor..especially if she has just been diagnosed. Rather worrying...
 
Thanx, you can answered me in english. I see now on the Levemir pencil the Exp date is 01/2011 and the batch XP50823. Is it right, because this is what the dr give me for her.
 
Hi Bettie

Levemir is a slow acting insulin and would not be given for meals. Do you have another type of insulin for meal time?

Also the date on the Levemir means that it might not be as strong as it should be. You should not have been given insulin that is out of date.
 
No, he give me just this and say we must dose her between 19H00 and 21H00. What can I now do or give her, because she make sounds and not happy now. It sounds if her nose is blocked, but see nothing. Must I phone the doctor now who give me this and treat her or must I wait till the morning? Or must I take her to Onderstepoort?
 
Hi Bettie

You should call the doctor because the blood sugar reading is very high. If you can't reach the doctor then take her to Onderstepoort.

Good Morning, I call the doctor and said I must give her .4 this morning at 12:50. I took it now and show 13.2. Thanx! I am on my way to the Pharmist for a right Levemir Pencil and will look now for the Exp date. Can you please give me any advise how to treat her and what must I give her to eat? Is the Cerelac Maize/Honey babyfood right for her,because it is now what willing to eat and full cream milk? Thank You for your time, but any advise will help me with her.She is like a baby in our home and is not in a cage. Have a nice day.
