embrassing question!!!

I also found that aloe vera gel (which had been stored in he fridge) also helped cool the area.

It's not unusual for men either, but is called balinitis...very unpleasant but manageable until (squeamish readers stop here) the f*r*sk*n becomes fibrous at the end and can't be pulled back any more for cleaning the balineum. Only cure is the unkindest cut of all, which is where I'm going next week...not having a religion change, but it will ensure that the condition can be cleared up once and for all. Its all about the fungus's lovev of sugar, which is why it thrives in undiagnosed diabetics. If you're a man, not yet diagnosed, and have this condition, get yersel away to the docs - you might be able to sort it out before you need the chop! :x

Just to say, Thrush is often caused by being on anti- biotics, something about them upsetting the balance of good and bad bacteria. I know every time I have a course I get it, my sympathies, it is unpleasant - I hope it clears up soon.

I used to be a really bad sufferer of thrush, would get it on a regular basis! Best advice I have had was stop using talcum powder and bubble bath, haven't had thrush since and that has included 2 rounds of antibiotics. If it is burning when you wee I would advise potassium citrate which you can get from the chemist, comes in a bottle and you add 2 teaspoons to a glass of water and drink 3 times a day. Doesn't taste fab but neutralises the acid, pharmacist gave it to me when I had a UTI and it was a lifesaver. Hope you feel better soon xx

Hi, just to say that I had this problem recently due to the heat (at the beginning of summer). I found it difficult to get to a chemist as I was looking after someone who was ill and we live a long way from any town. I ordered products direct from the website of the people who make Canestan. The tablet and cream arrived within 2 days. Just a thought if you can't get out for some reason. I wouldn't buy it from any kind of online marketplace (!) as you need to know that medicines are the genuine article. :)

sandy,

if you have to discuss any personal matters with a receptionist you can ask to discuss it in private, most surgerys these days have a little side room for you to do this.
it saves that wishing the floor would open up feeling.

regards Nigel.
