Hi all!
The other day I made an emergency prescription, as I had lost my test strips whilst out (I know, it's bad, but it happens) when I went into the pharmacist (the day after, when they said they'd be there) and they were searching for them for ages, then finally handed me them. they kinda had a little moan at me, saying I should have made my emergency prescription a day earlier so they'd definitely have it. I'm sorry but isn't the whole point of an emergency is that... well, it's an emergency and you don't plan it?

Here in Hungary if u lose ur strips u gotta buy more without prescription. They only give out a specific amount of strips on prescription each month. I still need to buy 1 or 2 boxes more every month bcoz the amount they give is just not enough. Hope this changes in the future bcoz these are expensive.

I always order my prescriptions well before I run out of anything. Then, even if my insulin stops working or I lose my bag with my blood testing kit, I still have a new supply at home. I can order my prescriptions from the surgery on the doctor's website which makes it really convenient. The I just pick it all up the following weekend from the chemist's, which suits me.

Hi. I always have spare stocks of all my normal ongoing meds for just such a situation. Test strips can be bought without prescription but you may have to pay the VAT.
