Empagliflozin and pain

Hi, my consultant recently started me on empagliflozin and since then I've been woken most mornings with excruciating pain in both hands and the same 2 fingers on each hand swelling. Whilst I have a diagnosis of carpal tunnel syndrome, this is much worse than anything I've experienced before and the numbness continues until lunchtime (nerve conduction studies confirmed this whilst testing for an unrelated neurological condition but it's never given me any real issues, only mild numbness upon waking, disappearing once I'm up) FYI I take empagliflozin at night. Anyone else experienced similar on this drug?
I'm 56 and post menopausal so joint pain is a given but this is something else!
Any first hand experience/advice appreciated. Thanks.
I'm also on Metformin SR x1 (tummy can't tolerate more) & 40 units of humilin insulin & empagliflozin x1 daily

I’m on empaglaflozin and I haven’t had any side effects from it.
