Hey i was diagnosed about 16 months ago and thot this week my spiked sugar level was due to my time of the month but it has remained. I was usually on 5/6 units of novo each meal but have noticed in last week this doesnt touch me. Can honeymoon ending be that quick a change? I was spoiled with the little amount i required but this has kind of depressed me at how noticable every morsel of food now makes to my sugar level in last week.

Great question Donna
I'm still in my honeymoon and am interested to know how I will know when it ends ????

Sorry to hear that Donna. I think the same thing is happening to me, and in my case I had two or three unexplainable spikes about three weeks ago, then this week it's been every meal. So this week it's happening pretty fast. Going to ask for rapid-acting today.

I think the rapidity just varies, person to person.

Mine hasn't ended yet (20 months) but I do have very rapid changes. Over night my basal needs have doubled on occasions, but at times I do still produce insulin lol it's keeping us on our toes! I do think mine is on its way out

So how do ye know when yer honeymoon period has ended coz i also exercise a lot so i never know if its jus days im not exercising it appears higher etc. its very hard. Thanx for yer replies.
