Hi,

its been a month since i was diagnosed as type2, and am still adjusting my diet to low carb. Slowly but surely i am getting there, but i miss all those krispy cremes and Mr Pretzels i used to chomp on, so its time to get stuck into some proper dessert baking.

I have been doing some research on the best sugar substitute to use, and finally have reached a product that i think will have the least side effects and great on taste that i wish to try first - erythritol and stevia blend!

I notice there are various products like this on the market already like Truvia and Zsweet but they are expensive, or have some extra ingredients added which may add some unwanted after tastes.

I would like to make my own blend by buying the erythritol and stevia separately. Has anyone made their own before? Can anyone recommend where is the best place to buy or what is the best brand? i think i need to buy erythritol crystals and 100% Stevia in powder form, but not quite sure!

Thanks in advance

David

I have been buying Stevia and erythritol as separate components for years. Erythritol is rarely available in shops in Europe but ok in US. Many online sources including Amazon can provide both.
