I remember the beer was horrible as well.

In thinking on Scotland referendum, there are some uncomfortable issues that need to be aired.
So when Scotland do vote to leave the UK, where will the tax come from to fund Universities, Hospitals, police and other services?

The 90% of EU trade that comes into the ports in the UK in the South will need to still freight to Scotland across a border(ye gods ! How's that supposed to work!?).
Stirling will not be available as currency and all national debt in the Royal Bank of Scotland will likely be transferred from any Scottish body willing to handle the cost fallout.
Oil pipelines can simply be continued further South to new refineries which will enrage the current richest UK billionaire who owns the refineries in Scotland whom I'm almost sure won't be lobbying much to change the outcome(there is also the issue of who owns the oilfields but I won't touch that!)

The currency issue is going to be the biggest issue to overcome in separating Scotland from the UK because the EU will be loath to incur further debt to fund Euros to Scotland. Then there is the EU presidents and commissioners will be so happy to see a separate Scotland reminding areas such as the Basque to go it alone.

With the UK already causing fractures with Denmark, Sweden Italy and Spain (don't mention Greece) considering quick timetable referendums, I'm sure the further disintegration of nations around Europe would be further welcomed by inviting Scotland to to join the EU monetary union?

The Scottish oil, from the Scottish oil fields, in the North Sea, offshore from Scotland, in Scottish territorial water?
I would guess the England keep the southern oilfields, in their territorial water though.

Given that England has just voted the UK out of the EU with no idea where it is going to land I would have thought the problems posed by a Scottish exist would be trivial in comparison.

There are thought to be only 20 civil servants qualified to negotiate the various treaties UK exist is going to generate and that at least 150 are required... whole thing has not been thought through...

but hey it's okay, we're the 5 largest economy in the world....

and yet we're dependent on a French company, financed by the Chinese to build, one nuclear plant to paper over our under capacity of leccie generation... with some very serious safety concerns about the structural integrity of said power plant.

The future is clearly safe

Oh yes and whatever happened about the aircraft carrier we were going to share with France? Did that go ahead? I have visions of us cutting it down the middle like the furniture in an acrimonious divorce now.

Actually we are likely currently now behind France as the sixth largest Economy!

Perhaps we can hope to beat them at football!?

Your forgeting all the businesses that will leave England and move to Scotland so they can trade in the EU.

That Euromillions lottery thing... You can count that one out too.. If yer not in it, you can't win it!?

I can understand 'emigrating' to Scotland but I can't believe just changing to a Scottish University is going to help in any way.

Yes, not many people understood the implications of the 'leave' vote either.
It's a lot to get your head a round.
Maybe only the young should have been allowed to vote?

I repeat, there are ways around these things. I think you will find we are both quite out yet, so could still apply. We will have to see what happens in the negotiations.
Personally, I can think more diverse and exciting places to study even if they do close the doors to UK students.

Yes but just changing uni isn't going to give you those things.

Sorry, you didn't answer the question....

You didn't ask a question.
You admitted to a shortcoming in your understanding or beliefs.
I suggested you shouldn't have been allowed to vote in that circumstance.

You also seem to have three posts, and even quoted yourself as one of them.
