Yes and half of this figure is from non EU countries. These are the people we could stop coming in already, but don't, so I don't really think Brexit is going to change net migration at all. There will just be more people who we could have turned away but didn't.Watching the BBC news and the main headline is Net Migration to the UK has risen to the second highest level on record, this will play into the hands of the Brexit campaign no doubt.
One of the main reasons some want to leave is that Brussels imposes silly rules on all of us and we don't like being told what to do. So why don't we do what the other EU countries do...ignore the silly rules? Oh no, we have to follow them to the letter and then whinge about it.
Stay in or leave? I really don't know what's best, but have decided (probably) to vote to stay in for 2 reasons.
BBC counter argument: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-eu-referendum-35981015Worth having a read of this as well. EU Membership is about much more than we ever consider: http://crick-tech-munch.blogspot.co.uk/2016/06/healthcare-and-brexit-what-would-it.html
That's about healthcare costs, which was a secondary point of my discussion, and has the same issue that we have with all of these - it assumes arrangement of reciprocal deals with healthcare services in all the countries of the EU. The number of treaties/agreements that we need to negotiate if we leave is getting longer by the day!BBC counter argument: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-eu-referendum-35981015
Maybe, maybe not, we just don't know until we try.The point I was making was that for certification of new meds and devices if we were to leave, as the UK economy would suddenly represent a lot smaller consumer base and as a result would be likely to have to wait a lot longer, like Australia with the Libre.
Why try? What benefit does it bring? Purely based on running a business, where you have to seek approval, you take the route that will provide you with the greatest sales opportunity at the lowest cost. It's not a case of maybe or maybe not.Maybe, maybe not, we just don't know until we try.
Johnson just talks like a child some times so I just turn the TV off when he is on
JCB Chairman clearly doesn't agreed: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-36485985Why try? What benefit does it bring? One discussion I remember from the 75 referendum between my late father and my late uncle (dads brother) both served in WW2 along with 2 other brothers who died
Both my Dad and Uncle were in favour of a common market they both said war was terrible and a common market was a good idea but both warned of a German takeover of that market and that in particular should not be allowed to happen
Now it's 2016 and I think my late father would turn in his grave because we have Germany running the EU
He was for a common market a trading zone and not for a political European superstate run by Germany
We are not in the euro thank god
We are not in Schengen thank god
We are the 5th largest economy and I believe we can do very well on our own
The EU needs us more than we need them
Suppose we leave are the German car industry and German wine producers going to stop selling to the UK? Will the EU impose tariffs on our exports to the EU if they do then we do the same to them and that will hurt not only Germany but France (cars cheeses wines etc) Italy (cars cheeses wines etc so on and so on
If we stay the EU led by Germany will forge ahead with their plans whilst we act like Billy no mates and don't go with them
Leave and the Scandinavians and probably Ireland might reconsider
I'm voting leave we have traded as a nation worldwide for centuries and theres no reason in my book why we can't do so in future years
All I hear from Remain is scaremongering and it makes my blood boil
I would vote remain if as when the common market was set up had focused solely on trade but introductions of a EU parliament and subsequent treaties forging ever closer union is simply not for me
No thank you I want out
