Hi folks, after reading a thread on here about milk/cream in coffee or tea I thought I would explore your views on evaporated tinned milk....the following is my reply to the thread mentioned.
We use evaporated milk (tinned milk) in coffee and all our visitors always say my coffee tastes great, I put a dash in tea as I like my tea strong. also a good alternative for cream on desserts or berries.
Brands Carnation, Ideal, or supermarket own brand.
we use Lidl own brand as cheap, values are
Per 100g 12.7g carbs
162 calories in 100g.
9% milk fat + it has added vitamin D

try it and see what you think.

For me way too many carbs..I use 45ml of cream in my coffee so that would add up to 6g of carb per cup. Yesterday my entire carb intake was 12.1g from milk and cream only. That was 5 large mugs of tea and 1 keto coffee. Oh yeah I forgot the frozen cream dessert too.

Too many carbs for me too - i switched from milk to cream for two reasons; to avoid whey, and to avoid carbs. Cream lets me do both.

Love the flavour of evap milk though. Always have. Liked it by the spoon. And delicious in hot choc!

And then there's condensed milk (and fudge made with it) ..... happy memories! Evaporated milk is a complex process to make and has no added sugar unlike condensed milk!

Too many carbs for me, too! When I was little I remember my Grandma putting evap in tea (never had coffee there - coffee was for adults only) :)

Personally I love a nice big cold glass of milk. It refreshes, quenches my thirst and my teeth thank me for the calcium :D

I'll give this stuff a try though, I'll try anything once! Except mushrooms :***:
