Hi SquireI googled it and got this.
https://www.google.co.uk/search?client=opera&q=carbs+in+cauliflower&sourceid=opera&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8
So it's 5% or 5gms/100g but you have to remember he was advocating less than 20g total which is a bit stringent.
If you mix cauli with soft chese, then its GL load will lessen, and it will still be useful. This is the basis of cauli mash. I think the mags usually show the cooked value. and for some reason, boiled veg seems to be higher carb content than raw.I googled it and got this.

Avoid the traffic light labelling in the UK, it quotes sugar but not total carbs. I ask you, how helpful is that? Not sure about the USA but UK Sugar Free labelling often does not mean Carb Free.
Perhaps you should respond to @Brunneria in post #20 thenHi Squire
Sorry but even when you use google.co.uk you still get the US measurements of carb which include the fibre content.. so for cauliflower it is in fact 3g per 100g of carb the 2g of fibre in the UK is ignored but in the US is included. This is often very confusing so I tend to use a UK supermarket site to get nutritional info. Just for your info.

I would be interested in hearing @azure 's comments on this video. I read a post from her the other day which described her great control over her blood glucose levels with much attention to timing of testing. Brilliant. So what is her opinion of a doctor who just says halve your insulin?
Thank you Brunneria. You never cease to amaze me with your knowledge and willingness to share....and, as if by magic:
Please view video again and note what he actually said. It is certainly not what I heard or took from this.I don't know how he would talk to a group of T1's but he produced a video which is published in which he just tells people on insulin to halve the dose. Some of these may be T1's and some may be T2's on insulin but it could possibly not be very good advice since many viewers of the video won't be attending his one on one clinic.
I agree that in the select group of his session that was probably ok, but this video will travel around the globe now and be seen by others. It may well appear on FB. I have edited my posting above to give my explanation, having myself had experience of that 'trust me' being flung back in my face. Thank you for sharing the original post and starting this discussion, It will not be wasted. My original post was put up here for the many people who are new to low carb and are on the forum asking what can I eat? How do I do this? They are not asking for the science behind it, those questions come later. They just want a clear picture of what to eat and not eat which is borne out by the poster asking for page 4. (thank you @Brunneria )This video does that. It seemed pretty clear to me that he was not telling people to just stop half their insulin but was speaking to specific individuals in the room with him and had a plan in place for them to reduce medications under supervision from himself or a GP. I am not telling people to follow this particular diet, although I personally do and did long before I saw this video. It simply answers a lot of questions that come up multiple times on a daily basis here. I hope it is of some help to people.
