Hi, I've been diagnosed t2 for 2 months by Hba1c was 12. i thought I was doing ok, my morning readings were creeping down 12.1 last week, I had introduced a 45min walk 3 times a week. All was great until the weekend when readings started creeping up. Monday was 16.3, I went for my walk came back and my reading was 19?? Yesterday it was 16.9 came back from walk and it was 26. Today I woke up with a sore throat & streaming cold. Reading was 18.
I did some research and it seems the body can react when Ill & bg is high and insulin is not working.
Also with stress thinking about quitting job & working from home so lots of stressful thoughts going on. Would an painful injury have the same effect? I've had a shoulder impingement which has stopped me playing golf. I used to take ibuprofen but stopped when I started Metaformin so have been in constant niggling pain. Would this keep bg high?
Any thoughts appreciated.
Regards

All of the conditions you have listed can impact on bg reading and control, and exercise is a great addition to controlling blood glucose alongside diet and medication. That said, your levels are way to high, and I think that you should speak with your diabetes care team about reducing these levels, its possible that your meds may need some adjusting.

Thought I was on the right track last week readings below 13 in the mornings. Had the energy to start exercising. Still learning. By all accounts exercise is not recommended if Bg is above 14. At least with a meter I'm in control to a degree, wouldn't have had a clue without one. Shame I have to pay. Got fasting bloods next week so we see the reality as to how well I've done.
