Hello all
Just coming to the end of my first month of admitting that I have type 2 and doing something about it. As yet, only done the initial clinic thing where there was outline advice but nothing personal ( e.g like diet and exercise to benefit the individual ).
I don't have medication so it's v.important to focus on diet and exercise as they are my sole controllers at this point - and I hope for a good long time. I was aware at the clinic that I was lucky enough to be on the slim and young side - so what I'm saying is that I am not having to shift excess weight ... and I am young and able enough to do serious exercise. What I hadn't bargained for is just how much effort it takes to influence blood sugar levels!!
Does anyone have data they have collected regarding this?
At the moment I have to swim like a demon for 40 minutes, non-stop, to get into readings of under 6.0mmol/L.
Vigorous Yoga ( I teach Yoga ) can get me into the early 6s.
I find walking, even vigorous, not much help at the moment.
I just want to find the best thing I can and really commit to it. At present, it looks like swimming is the most helpful.
