Hi all,
I need some desperate assistance with this..
I play football and have done every season for the past 20 years (since being diagnosed type 1) and this is the only thing that really plays havoc with my BS control. Pre season has just started and im feeling the effects from this over the last few days.
If I don't take sugar beforehand my sugars rise to around 16-20 and then hypo after a few hours and if I do (choc or sport lucozade) they also rise to 16-20 and hypo a few hours later.
How does anyone else keep sugars maintained during exercise or do most people find they go up and then come down again?
I can obviously take on some extra carbs afterwards to avoid the hypo but im sure the rise to 16-20 can't be good for me even if it is temp?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Paul
