Hi everybody, first post on this forum but I have been reading with interest since I was diagnosed in Mar 2008. I watched a very interesting programme on BBC2 Horizon. This chap went on a HIT (High Intensity Training ) programme for a month which consisted of 3x 20sec intensive sesions 3 times a week. i.e 3 minutes of training a week, so 12 minutes of effort for the month.
The results were very suprising in that it showed a definate decrease in his insulin resistance.
I've just had my HBA1c done (8.3 up from 7.2) a couple of weks ago, and I'm going to have a go with this type of training for 3 months till my next HBA1c. will report back sometime in June.
If anyone is interested the programme is still on iplayer till 17th April, I think its well worth watching.

It's encouraging if so much can be achieved by so little! In my own experience, intensive training lower bs-levels while low-intensity things (walking, gardening etc) stabilizes it - both highs and lows are less frequent when I get off the sofa :) Wonder if this is the same for everyone?
