Not being able to eat and drink as much as you like!
Hi,
I have been diagnosed lada, I am currently on 18units of long lasting insulin and just been given a fast acting to take b4 meals, as I go to the gym most days, I don't need insulin as exercising keeps bs in range. Is this cause I'm still in my "honeymoon period" or is it normal, does anyone else do or know about this.???

Hi there Lou,

Exercise will certainly help keep your blood glucose levels down - regardless of whether or not you are in a 'honeymoon period'. This is because your working muscles take glucose out of your bloodstream. In addition to this, exercise increases your body's sensitivity to insulin, and so you don't need to have as much circulating insulin for your body to make use of the the glucose in your blood.

Have a look through www.teambloodglucose.com for more information around exercise and diabetes and keep up the good work!
