I am a postman with type 2 diabetes recently put on insulin, that would like to know would a driving postal delivery or a walking delivery be better for me.
 
Walking, low level steady exercise will significantly improve your insulin sensitivity, giving you lower doses overall. If you are also overweight (which you don't say) this should also help you lose excess weight, get generally fitter and also save the planet:lurking:
 
I am overweight which has got worse since I have been on insulin, my doctor has talked about me having a drug called glp which apparently tells your brain not to eat so much, so I am waiting to hear about that, I definately need to do more exercise though so cheers
 
An overweight postman! You're something of a rarity, lol. All the posties I've ever come across are average or skinny. I think you already know which would be the better option for you..... ;) Good luck.

My most embarrassing assumption of last year was that our postwoman was getting awfully fat. Then one day she stopped doing the round and her replacement told me she's on maternity leave. Blush.

I quite envy postmen their job, with its built-in fitness.

My opinion is going to be at odds with some. A couple of years ago when my nurse asked me to walk every morning I did so except for Wednesdays. On that day I didn't walk but went to Tesco for the weekly shop. I always returned my lowest pre lunch sugar readings on Wednesdays and couldn't explain why. In fact I had a mild hypo just before I got back from Tesco on one occasion. .

I live in a rural spot and going to Tesco is a bit of a drive and then there's the trolley pushing etc. I don't know the truth of it but decided it must be an activity that involves both the legs and the arms. Anyway, it worked for me.

My postman has a van (rural spot again) and all the leaping in and out of it and driving it around the lanes is not, in my opinion, a sedentary pastime.

So I reckon, walking or driving are both good.
