exercise

no but an interesting theory... my trainers says that the body need to change to other exercising regimen after a few month to keep pushing the devellopment of the body...

that makes sense - seems like a parallel theory in a way. anyway, i'd much rather dance than run, so happy to stick with it.

I think the key points about exercise are that it should be regular, and you need to be able to keep doing it long(ish) term. For me, the most successful approach has been to incorporate exercise into my daily commute. At the moment, I work in central London, so walk from home to tube and from tube to work each morning, and back again in the evening. That isn't a great deal, but it had a noticeable effect on my blood pressure.

That is, until I broke my leg - that really has spoiled things.

@Hemmy
Please take a look at a post I made yesterday in the Testimonials forum. See what has worked for me! I've smashed it from both ends - Diet AND exercise!, no medication!

You don't need to be Chris Froome or Bradley Wiigins for this to work, but you have to enjoy it for it to endure!

From the little research it seem that "exercise is the icing on the controlled carb cake" and that without controlling our carb increase exercise has little benefit in controlling Type2. But that exercise can increase the benefits of controlling carbs.

Some of the USA based low carb experts are now saying that people should be told not to increase their exercise until they have lost a little weight with low carb, doe to the risk of damage to cartilage etc. They are claiming that once people have been on low carb for a few weeks, they start feeling like exercising and that is the point to provide the exercise programs etc. It seems that people feel happily when they choose to exercise regard of the effect on BG.

Quite frankly I find the idea of exercise quite ghastly but do allow me to explain............

I'm active most of the time my job is an active one and I enjoy gardening and cleaning my car.
I make things in my garage in an evening (see avatar which are flowers made from tin cans which I do for charity).
I help friends+family with those jobs that no-one wants to do.

Keeping active and not leading a sedentary lifestyle is my way that works for me and the word "exercise" can put people off.
I tried the gym once and nearly died of boredom so I tried swimming and I shrunk.
I went cycling and nearly got run over so I went to play golf which turned out to be a waste of a good walk.
I went hiking and got lost then played tennis but kept losing the balls as well as the plot.
I even tried 5 a side football but kept running into the wall..............

So no exercise for me but neither do I sit down a lot so if there's anyone out there like me and is short of something to do get in touch.........
Oh and I'm about to start making reindeer out of logs and branches which I did last year and made just short of £400 which went to Mind the mental health charity.

The dictionary definition of exercise ......

'activity requiring physical effort, carried out to sustain or improve health and fitness'.

.... hits the nail on the head, covers all of the above and sums it up I think!.... whatever works for you is good!
