Last time I looked into this I discovered it is a good way of creating expensive wee. Our bodies can burn lipid fat (fatty acids) under low glucose conditions, but this produces ketones as a by producr that we excrete in our breath, sweat, and wee. Exogenous ketones pass through our system to the exit without doing much. There was a celeb diet fad called Raspberry Ketones that hit the headlines, and if you replaced normal food intake then it gave weight loss but only because it was otherwise poor nutritiom.Anyone taking ketones to lower blood glucose?

Someone at my wife's church has an MLM dealership and sells Raspberry Ketone supplements. She tried very hard to sell some to my wife to cure her Parkinsons, and then to me to cure my T2D and then to my son who had a DX of cancer. We declined all these special offers, and so we will never know if things would have changed. My wife sadly passed from Parkinsons complications and my son got married last month and is in full remission. I am still T2D.Diet Doctor have done a review: "Exogenous ketone supplements: Do they work?" - here:

And, @Oldvatr - It appears that Raspberry ketones are still around (and expensive), courtesy of Amazon....

Recent research does show some promise for Alzheimers patients but very limited. This may read across if they can show that alzheimers is indeed related to diabetes. (some call it the IR of the brain which is rubbish since insulin does not cross the blood brain barrier.)
No probs. I experiment too. But this one has the appearance of a Turkey. As stated, the 0.5 mmol/l effect is about the same as Metformin on full dose. so not impressive. Certainly not at the prices they are charging for it. Save money, bath with a friend. My reason for asking is an on going desire to keep my glucose levels down ( of course). I’ve been low carb / keto for 4/5 yrs ( eggs / fish meat and a few veg) and have a hba1c of 43. I’ve never needed to loose weight (bmi =20) . Im still experimenting . Thanks for your thoughts
