Experiencing heartburn following low carb diet

Thank you for your very helpful replies. Having less fat in my meals has helped and also including salad/vegetables for the second meal of the day whereas previously I was just having protein and fat. It's all a learning curve and each one of us responds differently to certain foods. It's just discovering what suits us best.

It will take a bit of time for the body to get used to the change in diet and it sounds like you are doing the right thing! If fat digestion becomes more of a problem you could look into pancreatic enzymes (Exocrine pancreatic insufficiency) to help digest them.
 
If you want to stick to 1 meal with veg, 1 protein/fat, would switching them around help, so that the protein one is "lunch" and the vege/protein one is your evening meal?
