Many thanks to @bushbiker for advice on starting and posting to this forum.
As they say "never too old to learn "
Day 1 of a liquid only fast. I say liquid only as may have some bone broth later in the evening if very hungry.
Did a 5 day fast earlier this month but gave up on day 5 as felt queasy.
Today FBG was 7.5, weight 65kg, BMI 22.5 and body fat 28.7%.
Target reduce FBG to 4.0, weight to 60 kg, BMI to 19 and body fat to 22.0%.
Seems too ambitious but its worth a try.
Anyone else care
Is it possible to fast with diabetes? I thought I have to have regular meals so as not to have a hypo
Thank you I'm very new to this . I really want to get my blood sugar stable but it seems all over the place. It depends on your medication regime. If unmediated or metformin only, no problems at all. Any blood glucose lowering medication or insulin and it’s more complicated and requires a higher level of monitoring/supervision.
I see these are your first posts. Tagging @daisy1 forma welcome pack - won’t answer questions about fasting, but plenty more helpful information.
Are you fairly recently diagnosed?Thank you I'm very new to this . I really want to get my blood sugar stable but it seems all over the place.
Sounds great.. interesting about the hunger I find that day 2-3 is usually the worst. I've been down to 3.5 on an extended fast with no ill effects. Keep strong but don't forget if you start to feel unwell then breaking the fast is always the best idea. Thanks @zand I feel okay though hunger pangs getting worse.

I can see that .... 13 is pretty hard core! Thanks @bulkbiker. Feelings of hunger come and go I am drinking water and black coffee
Trying to minimise calorie intake as far as possible.
Can you share the 'after fasting' too please? I won't be trying this until the Spring ( if at all) as I don't cope well without food in the colder weather. Thanks @daisy1. I have been following this website for a number of years but never got involved.
Just thought it would be interesting to share details of a longer period of fasting.
Yes @zand. I'll update on post fast data as well. Will be interesting to see how the numbers change once I start eating again. Can you share the 'after fasting' too please? I won't be trying this until the Spring ( if at all) as I don't cope well without food in the colder weather.
Not just the numbers, how you feel afterwards would be interesting too please. Sorry to be a pain.Yes @zand. I'll update on post fast data as well. Will be interesting to see how the numbers change once I start eating again.
