Extreme hunger but BM is 8.4

I get extremely hungry about 2 hours after eating despite having a blood glucose level of 8.4. I get light headed as if in a hypo. I am desperately trying to loose a stone in weight but I I find low carb very restricted and the last time I did it rigorously my ferritin level dropped below 10. It should be 40. I was very unwell. I suffer with arthritis in my hands and feet and find exercise very difficult, therefore I’m very sedentary.
Please has anyone any suggestions?
Thank You

It is possible to do low carb and keep your iron, Vits D & Bs, etc, high enough.
If you drop carbs suddenly you may get 'keto flu', and if your body is used to high blood sugar levels you can get fake hypos. You can either ride these through until your body adapts or drop carbs slower?
There are hundreds, probably thousands of low carbs recipes, we can share a few links, and some really good food swaps - what do you like to eat?

Your body is used to having higher carbs and it craves them. Thats not to say you give in to it. Its just like toddler screaming because a toy has been taken away.

Its s bit like going cold turkey off drink or drugs.

I found that having a spoon or 2 (no more) of either full fat natural yoghurt, or double cream or a few plain nuts would stop the craving, and within a couple of weeks that 2 craving wouldn't happen again.

Its just retraining the body. Once it gets used to your new way of eating those cravings will go.

Low carb need not be boring. There are low carb alternatives for almost everything.

I would suggest having a small protein snack. I am a vegan so my go to's are fake meats, Or like someone previously said a few nuts. You could also make a low carb protein shake. Something with 1-5 carbs only.

If you could find some form of exercise that works, that would really help too. I have a really bad back but I can ride certain exercise bikes with a back and swim. I'm not sure what you have available, but in the US there is YMCA's with very low cost memberships to use their pool. The community center in my town is free and has a lift for disabled to get in and out of the pool. And some gyms have inside pools. My medical insurance has a free online physical therapy program that has been great. I'm not sure what you are able to do, but try to find something that works, just starting with movement sometimes helps.
