Hi ,I'm a bit confused, when I was diagnosed with type 2 my doctor said I would have to have eye and foot checks, but when I went to the nurse to have my second blood test and asked why I hadn't got an appointment for my feet she said they didn't always do them it would depend on what this blood result came back at , so does this mean if my blood test is ok I don't have diabetes and don't need any checks or should I insist on them

Your DSN should check your feet when you have your checkup. Even if it's just to check the pulse points to check circulation and you definitely should have a yearly eye exam at the hospital. What was your hba1c?

I'd get a new nurse, you will never get decent care from her.
everyone here sees a podiatrist as needed or at least every year, as Karen said, you need your pulse/s and nerves checked
eye test is with the drops and bright light stuff
also it's a good idea to get a meter to check your levels with what you eat

Thanks I can't seem to get my readings below 7.9 but am still trying to see which foods affect me more .i think our doctor just uses the practise nurse I haven't seen a diabetic nurse
