Eye appointment.

Funny I mentioned waiting for my appointment, and it arrived this morning. I was really impressed, I have a choice of clinics, and times. I have phoned them and made my choice. All very civilised for the NHS.

No, they did not run through the photographs, took 4, then said well let you know in a week, whilst comparing them with last time, even though it's my first one.

I got my results back today.

It says that I have "some background retinopathy", so as long as I keep my glucos levels down and blood pressure good (I don't have blood pressure issues) then its manageable and should not get worse. They are not concerned at this point.

So, all in all. Think that's a great result

Same here. I had my eye test last week and got the results as all good in 2 days. The nurse was really helpful, showed me the pictures (because I asked) and explained how it "would" look if it wasn't good and what they were looking for. Then explained that they would be need to be studied by doctors further so the nurse didn't give me any false hope.

"Do" take sunglasses, I did but didn't put them on but when I walked outside it felt like someone had thrown the sun in my eyes!

All the best

I've just found out that my Eye screening appointment has been booked for February 2013, which is 13 months after i've been diagnosed. I take it from the above posts that this isn't normal?

Hi. Had my test on Friday and the results arrived in the post on Saturday! They said all was OK so don't assume the worst. I'm lucky that my local hospital screening clinic is very efficient and friendly and has been for the last few years.

I had to wait for 18 months before I got my eye test, and it took nearly 3 weeks to get my results back, all good thank goodness. Maybe ours is different over here, but someone posted earlier that it dosent hurt, well, when she puts the drops in my eye, it was one of the worst pains I have ever felt, she did warn me , but is was worse than I expected. the only good thing is it only lasts about 10 seconds.

From being diagnosed on the 11th of June,I've got my eye test date of 12th September.I'll take sunglasses.
