Hi I am 25 weeks pregnant and currently having my eyes screened every 4 weeks. I have a received a letter today saying due to this they want me to get my blood pressure checked.

Has anyone experienced this?

Hi @hisjen84, Congratulations on your mother-to be status !! From my reading , not as professional advice or opinion.
I have read that pre-existing diabetes-related eye blood vessel troubles can accelerate during pregnancy hence I think the 4 weekly checks just in case (whether anything was pre-existing or not).
High blood pressure can injure vulnerable organs like kidney and eye and maybe it is just a routine procedure to check yours pr maybe there is some change noted in the small blood vessels in your eyes that alerted the eye doctors to suggest a check your BP.
Of course as a patient you have the right to question the reasons for any doctor's recommendations and to ask why checks needed.
That way you can receive the best answers and be persistent if you think you are getting the run around.
Some doctors are technically very expert but seem to lack the much-needed bedside manner and communication skills!!
Best Wishes with your journey!!
