Yesterday I had the eye screening done it went ok but I have become concerned about the way my sight has become blurry over the last week or two. Has any one else experienced blurry vision when your sugar levels are dropping to a more normal level? I am talking close up things I need to remove my glasses more to see detail. It has worried me quite a lot however when I asked to see my eye photos nothing stood out to me or the person who did the procedure I was told any damage is mostly obvious you will get results in a week or two

Yes. When I was first diagnosed, I have slightly blurring which I knew was because of the diabetes. I was told my eyesight would go back to normal after a few weeks, but I was not warned that it would get worse (in my case much worse) before it got better.

Have to admit I was worried for those few weeks!

yip, blurry for a wee bit of time, lasted a few weeks. this was initally after diagnosed around a week later alongside spottish vision. It lasted around 3-4 weeks. had to change optician appt 6 weeks down the line. my prescription glasses is now VERY slightly less than it was lol in One Eye weird huh. optician said was as eyes had been accustomed to higher sugar levels and said should return to normal within a few weeks max.

Yes, it happened to me and it has happened to a lot of people. Main thing is not to rush off and get a new prescription while it's still in the process of changing: my prescription did eventually change quite a bit.

It's not necessarily damage, more probably it's the change in the refractive index of the liquids in your eye - the vitreous and aqueous humours - as the concentration of glucose is changing. It takes the brain a bit of time to adapt to it, but once everything BG-related stabilised my vision settled down really quickly and hasn't altered since (in over five years).
