No, normal tests don't show a freckle...at least it's never been mentioned before, so I guess not. I guess I just wanted to say that we really shouldn't anticipate the worst all the time, just try to stay calm and wait to see what happens. Good luck to everyone!!

It's all good info for people comparing notes. I told the consultant about i think i have a blind spot .She spun the image round and said to me (you can't see to your top left can you?) I was amazed by it all !! Next year i'm gonna get her to save it on a disc for me :lol:

I am usually called just once a year for my eye test. But I have just had a letter to say that I shall be recalled for my eye test in 3 months time.
I feel everything is wrong at the moment I have to go for a BP 24 hr thing and a scan and another check on my pacemaker. I thought I was feeling ok before I saw my consultant in Feb.
What will tomorrow bring when I go for my yrly diabetic check blood test.

hi all just today had my first retinal screening and can say quick and simple eyes stung for a short time about 15 to 20 seconds but not too bad. 
i had to get in the back of a van that visits the hospital where i live they said i would be told in writing and would not give me any pitures
also went on second phase of diabetes education program met a wonderful lady there who gave me a book from diabetes uk about type 2 diabetes she was so thoughtful.

They tried to make me have the eye drops when I went for eye screening the other day too, when I said they hadn't needed them the previous 3 or 4 times I was told it was a new policy, everyone had to have them. They couldn't explain why this new policy existed. I didn't have sunglasses with me so would have been stuck there for ages afterwards if they'd done the drops I assume, anyway I didn't let them do the drops and they said the images were OK.
There was a big warning sheet there about the eye drops, about how they can cause a pressure increase inside the eye which is an emergency and you should seek treatment if this happens. So of course I'm not going to let them use the eye drops!
