Fainting

Type of diabetes
Treatment type
Tablets (oral)
Out for a meal last evening and felt increasingly tired, then hot and almost nauseus, left and promptly fainted alongside our car. No injuries but curious if this was a hypo. I take 2 metformin a day and this is the first time this has happened.
Any knowledge of cause and how to treat it would be helpful.

It is all too easy to blame our diabetes for every ailment we get. Metformin alone is extremely unlikely to cause a hypo. I suggest a visit to your GP

Hi @Perlafantastica and welcome to the forums
As @Rachox said metformin on its own is unlikely to cause a hypo.

Though hypos could theoretically cause you to faint so could plenty of other things, and without doing a blood glucose test at the time it's very hard to say whether you had low blood sugar.

I would agree that a visit to a GP is in order.
