Hi, I was diagnosed with Type 1 in Dec' 2016. I am 63. I inject my insulin once a day before bed. Last night I forgot. My bsl this morning was 7.9 and is usually around 7.0, anyone any idea what I should do?

Hi @amate007 ,

Welcome to the forum!

Could you give a little detail as to what insulin you are using?
Thanks in advance.

Hi Jaylee, around 10pm.

If you are absolutely sure you forgot your dose?!
Then I would take half the amount right now (9u in your case.) & test regularly to monitor blood glucos levels to be on the safe side.
Then the normal dose when bed time comes around tonight...

If I'd realised I've forgotten my Lantus at this time of the morning? That's what I would do..

Please keep a close eye on your blood sugar levels.!

Hope this helps?!

Hi jaylee, that is really helpful, I can't thank you enough. I did think about taking 9u when I realised what had happened. Once again thank you so much.

No problem. Let us know how you got on..? :)

Hi jaylee, just checked my BSL now down to 5.2 from 8.8 at 11am. The 9u must have worked will take my 18u tonight before bed. Thank you jaylee for your great advice.

That's brilliant news @amate007 .
But do continue to keep a close eye on the blood sugars! :)
