False Hypo.

Hello All,

I have just done (10:10am) a BS test and got a 4.7mmol which is very good and all that.

Now I know from what I have read on this forum and other books and internet that a level of 4.7mmol is not an hypo at all.

But I feel really odd, light headed, no energy and my brain will just not get into gear this morning.

Now I was up at 7.45am, had a single peice of toast this morning at around 8:15am (Nimble brown 8grams of carb) and 1pint of hot water. ( I never test in a morning anymore, only test after meals)

I had a cup of tea and feel a little better.

My question is how can we deal with these so called fasle hypos, they they go away with time etc?

Any ideas.

Cheers

Thanks borofergie.

Its really wacky our BS, as one 1hour later, (I have had 2 cups of tea with a small drop of milk) my BS is 5.9mmol.

5.9mmol is not bad (i think) but it just shows me that our BS is always moving around, which does make it difficult to track at times. :)

Cheers

Even if you take the tea out of the equation, it still would have moved. Your liver is continually dripping glucose into your blood.

5.9 mmol/l is a great number. My BG rarely moves out of the 5 to 6 range, even though eat hardly any carbohydrate.

I had a 4.9 reading once and went all hypo like, i mentioned it to my specialist and she my body reacted to the levels because i am always around 15 and 4.9 was to low for me it was to much of a drop to quickly. She said if i felt like that again to treat it like a hypo but as i said, i WAS always high.
