I've spent my whole diabetic life (pretty much my whole life) seeing him as a type 1 role model!!
I feel like I've been lied to!

Yes, type 2. As far as I know anyway!I thought Tom Hanks was type 2 as well . . . but apart from Steve Redgrave, these were all unknown to me!
Theresa May? Didn't know that.I was lied to about Halle Berry!
This may help: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_people_with_diabetes_mellitus_type_1
Am sorry this is a old thread but Theresa May has diabetes T1 and not T2No she's type 2.
I met Theresa may at a dinner function and she said to me that she was T1 and was still going through a honey moon period at the time and only had to inject twice a day with basel and here is a interview she did with the daily mail and talking about her t1 http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...y-reveals-Type-1-diabetes-needs-daily-injectiTeresa May T1 or T2.. Depends which media source you are reading doesn't it?
My pleasure Donnelly and she also uses the NHS with her treatment and not private treatment as some people have also been saying and yes she interesting personGood to hear straight from the horses mouth!! Thankyou..

If you want a role model Google the Badwater Ultra Marathon. Once your suitably impressed that crazy people even attempt it, consider this:
"In 2007, then-19 year old Ben Eakin - son of Laura Weber and coached and crewed by Scott Weber - completed his first solo crossing, having only finished 2 marathons and 1 50K prior to doing so. Eakin completed the 146 mile solo from Badwater to the summit of Mount Whitney, to become the youngest person to complete the lowest to highest course, as well as the first type-1 diabetic."
