I do not have diabetes
Hello everyone I’m new to the group. I don’t have diabetes but have been diagnosed with Heart Failure with Reduced Ejection Fraction of 35% and have been prescribed Farxiga 10 mg twice daily. I noticed after about 2 weeks of being on this medication I started not feeling right. I went to ER and Dr several times, lots of CT’s, bloodwork, etc…… nothing wrong. The depression is so intense I called my cardiologist and he told me to stop taking the Farxiga thinking that may be the cause of the Hell I’ve been experiencing. Has anyone experienced major depression and anxiety after being put on Farxiga? I took it for 2 months and feel like I’m at deaths door!!!

Hi @NanaCynth and welcome to the forum. Personally I have no experience of Farxiga and I guess anyone here will only be able to comment on the drug in relation to diabetes. A quick Google and I found this USA based heart failure forum. I see from your profile you are based in the USA, maybe you could get more advice there?

Hi @NanaCynth I take farxiga (dapagliflozin) for diabetes and haven’t experienced worsening depression after taking it although I do suffer with anxiety which is connected to my inattentive adhd, but it hasn’t got worse with taking farxiga. I have done a bit of research and found that eating a really low carb diet/carnivore/ketovore helps with alleviating the depression and anxiety.

Hey, I also take this. I suffer with anxiety and depression. And at the moment I’ve not found any antidepressants to be working for me. I’ve been on both tablets for about the same time so it’s hard to say if that’s potentially why
