Hi, I have a libre and it shows my fasting levels are around 5.6. I have been taking Ozempic for a year. I’m also getting hypos after eating meals. Do you think I’ll be able to come off Ozempic anytime soon? Thanks for your input.

Is around 5.6 upper normal for fasting? Thanks

Ozempic can have serious side effects so if you no longer need it to reduce blood glucose then I'd suggest contacting the prescriber to find out the best way to reduce or stop taking it.
As an ordinary type 2 I find that all I need to do is not eat high carb foods, so I long term medication seems odd to me, if no longer needed.

But these levels are Ozempic assisted. If I was to come off the Ozempic would they rise?

I have a severe eating disorder and can’t overly control my diet

I’m also getting hypos after eating meals.
How low are the hypos, and have you confirmed those with a fingerprick test?
Do you get symptoms with the hypos?

There is no way we can tell, I'm sorry.
Is there a particular reason you want to come off it?

3.4 is lowest. I have a big spike and then big drop. I don’t eat huge amounts of carbs.
I am losing too much weight and it’s a problem because I have an eating disorder and the weight loss is fuelling the eating disorder. Thanks for your reply

I would discuss your medication and alternatives with your HCP.
Are those lows confirmed with a fingerprick? Are they symptomatic?

There are different medications that don't promote weight loss, which may be more suitable if this one fuels the eating disorder. With the numbers you're currently seeing, I think the eating disorder may be more important to work on than perfect blood glucose.

I only have the libre atm. No finger prick test. I’ll run it by a doctor next week and see what they think. Thanks so much for your input!
