Hi there. I have the dreaded seasonal cold and have been feeling rather ****** the past few days so I decided to take glucose reading (even though my GP said not too bother) and the result was 9.4 :( can anyone tell me if this is common?

Yes I think it is when you are unwell BG can rise higher than usual

yes, your body is fighting an infection so that means it is stressing and that results in unpredictable sugar levels. I always have a hard time managing my sugar levels when I have added illnesses to my usual. Either I get high readings or very low readings and not a lot in between. Also in my experience it is my sugar levels that give me the first indication I have something wrong and need to go to the doc. Also on thing that can happen when sick is you're not drinking enough water... that can affect your sugar level as well.
