I believe the fasting convention is 12 hours with only water or black tea, so understandably most (all?) do it overnight. This usually means testing early morning when the effects of dawn syndrome might be still hanging around. Is it better to leave it a bit longer or is that like cheating?
(I know what you're going to say, do some time series BG tests and find out, but I thought I'd ask the question first).
