Any tips on how to get my fasting dm's down a bjt .. this morning 6.5 .. post was 6.2 ..as a pre would like to get this fasting one down as this reading is always above 5.5 ...thanks

Hi dvd, i have managed to come down from 8.0 to an average of 4.8 in about 6 wks , by eating less carbs....i know you prob' think your already low but i double checked mine and halved them and that did the trick....mind you increase the fats though!

Hi thanks for the fast reply .. am trying to stay clear of the carbs as best i can ..tried a slice of wholemeal bread last night for supper as cereals / porridge seem to put it up when eaten at bedtime ..but this may have accounted to the rise this morning.. tonight will try a vegie green drink which i make in a nutribullet.. thanks again ..

Our morning readings are always the last to behave because there are so many factors that affect it, most of which are outside our control.
Have you read about the Dawn Phenomenon? This is when the liver dumps glucose in our system to help us start the new day when our tummies are empty. It is a natural event and happens to most people, non diabetics as well. Not much you can do about it. If you go to bed on a much lower number, you can bet it is either the DP or s bad restless night or stress. Keep clear of carbs at bedtime though. Have some cheese, a yogurt, or a couple of nuts, but not bread. I never have supper and I don't generally get a rise over night, but that's just me.

Thanks bluetit for the reply.. will try tonight to go back to my vegie drink at bedtime as last time i had one at that time my bm the next morning was 3.4 which i thought was very low . Thanks again .. much appreciated..
